A veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Vladimir Gromov, is welcoming guests today: at the initiative of the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council, the leader of “The Obnovlenie” Party, Galina Antyufeeva, activists of the party came to him. Vladimir Ivanovich is pleased with this visit. He treats tea, sweets and freshly cooked stew potatoes. There is cozy in the house of the veteran, there is a new furniture. This is a gift from the President. The old furniture fell into disrepair last September, when during the maintenance work before the heating season in the apartment of Vladimir Gromov a pipe was broken.

According to Vladimir Gromov, the repairs in the apartment have been made on their own, and thanks to state assistance. Issues related to the delivery of new furniture were supervised by Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeyeva.

Vladimir Ivanovich is 92 years old. Despite his venerable age, he leads an active lifestyle, is interested in news, reads educational literature. Behind the veteran of the Great Patriotic War a great life and rich experience. Vladimir Ivanovich was born in Staraya Russa, Leningrad Region. In the Great Patriotic War he fought with the Nazi invaders in the ranks of the Second Baltic Front. His main weapon in the battles was the easel machine gun. He met the victory in Latvia, where he took part in the liquidation of the Courland group of German troops.

Vladimir Gromov from 1946 to 1950 served in Pskov in the parachute division. Later he moved to Tiraspol, where, before retirement, he worked in a garment factory named after the 40th anniversary of the Komsomol. A veteran of the Great Patriotic War was awarded two Orders of the Patriotic War, the Order of Glory of the III degree.
