Parliamentarians considered and adopted in two readings at once the changes to the state target program “Support and development of tourism in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” for 2019–2026” in the course of the plenary meeting. The total amount of funding that the state allocates for the implementation of the state program has been adjusted. Line-item funding was approved for the main areas of the state program.
First of all, we are talking about the promotion and active advertising campaign of the Pridnestrovian tourism product. It is planned to allocate 300 thousand rubles for these purposes. The Tourism Agency already has such experience. Articles about our republic were published in several European and Russian specialized magazines, as well as in the American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler in 2023. This publication is usually called a bible for tourists.
Approximately 70 thousand tourists visited Pridnestrovie in 2023. Most often these are Europeans, the Tourism Agency says, and guests from China, but there are also more exotic for us Australians, New Zealanders and very rare guests from Finland among those who want to see with their own eyes the small republic on the banks of the Dniester. They all visit tourist information centers, where they can get maps with the most interesting tourist routes, places where you can try various national dishes or just have a tasty snack and, of course, information about transport. These maps are updated and supplemented every year, so that guests of Pridnestrovie always have up-to-date information. However, the work of the Tourism Agency is not limited to this. New routes are developed every year. To attract tourists from abroad and please the Pridnestrovians themselves, who have shown great interest in domestic tourism in recent years. New things are being prepared in a direction that is now fashionable in the tourism environment, in the field of eco-tourism this year.
Parliamentarians approved the amount that the Tourism Agency will spend on sponsoring tourism-related sporting events within the framework of the state target program “Support and development of tourism in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” for 2019–2026”. First of all, these are the Oryol trotter races presented in 2023 in the village of Malaeshty, Grigoriopol region. As well as family orienteering planned for September in the Forest of Kitskany. Both of these events fall into the category of event tourism and attract a large number of guests.
Changes to the state program were adopted in two readings and sent to the PMR President for signature.
