Owners of car washes with bill acceptors will be allowed to operate under a patent

Entrepreneurs, owners of self-service car washes with automatic bill acceptors will be given the opportunity to work under patents. Proposed by the PMR Government the amendments to the law on the patent system of taxation were adopted by the Supreme Council in the first reading.

Car wash services were classified as activities that can only apply the simplified taxation system from the 1st of January. They are required to use cash registers in the form of online cash registers in order to accept payment for services, according to the norms of the law “on simplified taxation”.

The government proposed allowing self-service car washes with bill acceptors to switch to a patent system of taxation, similar to the coffee machines that are installed on the streets. Their owners use the patent taxation regime, since there is no technical possibility to combine a bill acceptor and an online cash register. If the car wash operates in self-service mode with a cash machine, the services are provided without the participation of staff: the client receives a token from the bill acceptor and washes his car himself. The deputies adopted the law-in-draft in the first reading, but proposed to finalize the legislation by the second reading.

The text of the Government’s law-in-draft says that the adoption of amendments to the law may allow ensuring the rights of individual entrepreneurs to carry out independent activities aimed at making a profit, under special tax regimes and create conditions for the development of small businesses.
