Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, deputy for constituency Number 25 "Zapadny" (Western) Galina Antyufeeva held a reception of citizens on personal issues. The meeting traditionally took place at the Tiraspol Agrarian and Technical College named after Frunze.
The problems that residents addressed to the deputy concerned a variety of areas: landscaping, pension provision, pardon issues. Some of them came to the reception to raise issues of public importance, while others came with a personal problem. Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva listened carefully and studied all the requests and appeals.
Citizens receiving a survivor's pension came to the deputy. According to the law "On state pension provision for citizens in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic", children, brothers, sisters and grandchildren of the deceased (dead) breadwinner up to 18 years of age can receive such a pension. Moreover, if they are studying full-time in an educational institution, they will be paid a survivor's pension until they complete their studies, but not later than when they reach 23 years of age. However, there are those who, due to various circumstances, have not yet completed their studies by the age of 23. According to the deputy, the problem can be solved by amending the legislation, for example, by increasing the maximum age for receiving a survivor's pension to 24 years.
Galina Antyufeeva holds the post of chairperson of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens in the Supreme Council. Therefore, she is often approached on issues of pardoning citizens serving sentences in places of imprisonment.
Such citizens are helped to determine a plan for further action, are advised what documents need to be collected, when and where to apply. There are also problems that cannot be solved promptly. These are issues that often require large financial costs. For example, residents of the capital's Soltysa Street are asking to install a storm drain. Huge puddles appear on the road during rain, because of which people cannot get to their homes. Galina Antyufeeva noted that receiving citizens is a very important part of the deputy's work. People convey their problems at such meetings. It is important to listen, study all the issues and try to do everything to solve them.
