Yulia Timofeeva is among the graduates. She receives a diploma in anesthesiology and resuscitation. She was assigned to the Republican Hospital for Disabled Persons of the Great Patriotic War in Tiraspol during her residency. She will return to work there, only as a certified specialist.
Yulia's future colleague Alla Ivanova dreamed of medicine for as long as she can remember. She came to the graduation ceremony with her main assistants along this path – her parents. The girl easily talks about how during the coronavirus pandemic she worked as a nurse in a Covid hospital and joked about her friends’ questions “isn’t it scary?” Alla’s specialization implies a constant risk for the doctor; she is a phthisiatrician. She is expected to work in the diagnostic department of the Republican Tuberculosis Hospital.
11 more doctors than in the past, including those in new areas, received residency diplomas this year. Such as pediatric dentistry, clinical laboratory diagnostics, urology and others.
Graduates of the medical faculty of the Pridnestrovian State University studied and practiced under the supervision of experienced doctors in various medical institutions of the republic for two years. The residents combined their studies with professional activities in their chosen areas. Educational standards of Pridnestrovie correspond to Russian ones and require training in 48 medical specialties. Residency replaced internship in 2021. This idea was once supported by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. For a more in-depth study of the medical specialty with an emphasis on practice, the Supreme Council adopted changes to the legislation.
Their practice managers from medical institutions of the republic, chief doctors, teachers of the Faculty of Medicine of PSU and relatives of graduates came to support the certified residents. A group photo was taken as a souvenir on the steps of the cultural and educational center named after Saints Cyril and Methodius at the end of the event.
