Payments to employees affected because of enterprises liquidation

26.10.2022

Payments for industrial injuries at enterprises that have already been liquidated at the present time must be paid in full. Amendments to the law "On insolvency (bankruptcy)" today submitted to the Parliament in the first reading. As Deputy Minister for Social Protection and Labor Sergey Seleznev noted, 19 people are registered with the republic's social insurance centers now, those who received industrial injuries while working at enterprises before their liquidation. The payments due to the victims come from the republican budget now. These amounts, depending on the injury received, range from 300 to 1500 rubles of PMR. This is exactly half of what should be paid. The PMR Government is invited to increase payments and reimburse the funds in full.

According to the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, about 173 thousand rubles will be needed for these purposes in 2023.

The parliamentarians specified which categories of citizens would be affected by these changes, if the initiative was adopted. The representative of the Ministry of Social Protection added that payments in full from the republican budget will be received only by those who received labor injuries at the liquidated enterprise.

The deputies supported the law-in-draft in the first reading. The Parliament should make the final decision on this issue at the next plenary session. It is planned that the changes to the law will come into force on the 1st of January, 2023.
