Childcare benefits extended to two years

26.05.2021

Pridnestrovians will be able to receive childcare benefits until they reach the age of 2 years. The corresponding legislative initiative of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky was adopted today at the plenary session in two readings by the deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The changes will affect citizens who receive an allowance in the amount of 110 minimum wage (1067 rubles), and those who receive an allowance in the amount of 80 minimum wage (776 rubles).

Until now, the childcare allowance was paid up to 1.5 years. The increase in the payment period starts from May 1, 2021.

In order for the initiative to take effect, amendments were made to several legislative acts, including the laws on the republican budget and the budget of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund for this year, the law on state guarantees to citizens with children, and others.

The adopted law-in-draft increases the allowance for children under 16 years of age for some low-income categories of citizens - from 25.5 to 31 RU of the minimum wage (from 247.35 rubles to 300.70 rubles). According to the Head of the relevant ministry, more than 7 million 800 thousand rubles are needed to pay benefits up to 2 years, about 7 million 128 thousand rubles to pay benefits up to 16 years. Financial resources are provided in the republican budget and in the budget of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund for 2021.

The adopted legislations will come into force after being signed by the President of the PMR. Increased benefits and benefits for caring for a child under 2 years old will be available in May.
