The Ministry of Social Protection and Labor summed up the work of the last year and identified priorities for the current one. The deputy of the Supreme Council, the head physician of the republican clinical hospital Vladimir Pelin took part in the work of the collegium of the department. The Minister Elena Kulichenko, having designated the main activities of the department, including social protection and public services, pensions, state and social insurance, protection of the rights of the family, motherhood and childhood, social and labor relations, employment of the population, noted that last year Social Security and Social Protection bodies for support were addressed by virtually every citizen of the republic.
In addition, the head of the ministry noted a significant reduction in the budget deficit of the fund by 232 million rubles compared with 2017. This allowed for the payment of pensions and benefits on time and in full.
According to the minister, another positive result was an increase in pensions from 2019 by 7%. Thus, the minimum pension increased from 616 to 660 rubles, and the maximum - from 1546 to 1655 rubles. Speaking about the tasks for the future, Elena Kulichenko noted that the ministry intends to continue to pay pensions in a timely manner, to ensure the development of new areas that will attract additional sources to replenish the income of the fund with a view to a possible increase in the level of pensions.
The head of the department focused on close cooperation with other bodies of state power and administration, due to which a number of socially significant laws were adopted last year. Oleg Fedotov, first deputy minister for social protection and labor, dwelt on them in more detail. He spoke about the plan of activities of the Year of Equal Opportunities, which consisted of 56 points. All of them were implemented in 2018. In addition to creating an accessible environment, the repair of specialized educational and sports institutions, laws were adopted that improve the situation of people with disabilities. Last year Pridnestrovie joined the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The decree on the recognition of the law in the territory of the republic as its framework was adopted by the Supreme Council. The document aims to ensure the equal participation of persons with disabilities in the civil, political, economic, social and cultural life of society, as well as the elimination of discrimination on the basis of disability.
The size of the allowance for non-working parents who are caring for a disabled child has been increased from this year from 35 to 100 MW. Now this is 970 rubles a month. In addition, persons with disabilities of groups I and II of sight and deaf and dumb, persons with disabilities of groups I and II receive a 100% discount on utility bills in the presence of registered minor children.
