10.12.2020

The number of deputies of the Supreme Council was reduced from 43 to 33 to save budget funds. This decision was initiated by the parliamentarians of the VI convocation. Due to the decrease in the number of deputies, the number of parliamentary committees was also optimized. There are 5 of them in the VII convocation. All the legislations aimed at ensuring the life of the republic remain on the agenda. Viktor Guzun, the elected head of the Committee, spoke about the tasks of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance.

Taking into consideration the integration of some committees, issues related to the development of entrepreneurship will now fall within the competence of the Committee on Economic Policy, the parliamentarian added.

Among the innovations: The Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex will now additionally deal with legislations in the sphere of housing and communal services and industry. The Chairman of the Committee is Oleg Leontyev. The issues of education, science and culture will be under the jurisdiction of the Committee on Public Associations and Mass Media, its chairman is Igor Buga. Two committees have not changed their direction - this is the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare under the leadership of Sergei Cheban, and the Committee on Legislation and the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens, its chairman is the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva.

Three permanent commissions continue to operate in the Parliament. Their leaders in the VI convocation were re-elected again. The Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations is headed by Galina Antyufeyeva, the Head of the Commission on mandates, regulations and parliamentary ethics is Grigory Dyachenko, the chairman of the Counting Commission is Ruslan Gareev.

The Committees will continue to work on the current draft laws in the new convocation. Protecting the interests of Pridnestrovians is still a priority.
