Viktor Guzun on the introduction of a state of emergency in the PMR

An emergency meeting of the PMR Security Council dedicated to the issues of ensuring energy security in the republic was held the day before in the Administration of the President of the PMR. The Security Council members discussed the reduction in the volume of gas supplies to Pridnestrovie and the negative consequences for the economy that it will entail. It was decided to introduce a state of emergency on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The corresponding decree, signed by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, was sent for approval to the Supreme Council.

The 1st emergency plenary meeting of the IV session of the Supreme Council of the VII convocation was held today, October 21. The deputies unanimously supported the introduction of a state of emergency on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for a period of 11 days. This decision was commented by the head of the relevant committee on economics Viktor Guzun.

Victor Guzun noted that the reduction in the volume of gas supplies to the republic would seriously affect the work of the leading industrial enterprises of Pridnestrovie.

The Supreme Council is actively working now with relevant ministries and Pridnestrovian enterprises to predict how the situation in the energy sector will affect the financial results of 2022.

The Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Chairman assured that all social obligations of the state in matters of paying salaries and pensions will be fulfilled in full during the period of the state of emergency in the economy.
