Deputies of the Supreme Council of the VII convocation began work. The 1st meeting of the 1st session of the new convocation took place on December 8. It was opened by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The meeting was held in the usual format in the conference room, and not in online quarantine mode.
The President congratulated the parliamentarians on the election and on the 30th anniversary of the PMR Supreme Council. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that it is important to follow the orders and opinions of voters.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that it was the Supreme Council that formed the legislative base and executive power of our republic.
The President noted that the importance of the parliament is great, but the responsibility is also great.
The first session of the Supreme Council of the new convocation was opened by the anthem of the PMR. Then the right to conduct the first session was given to the oldest of the parliamentarians present in the hall - deputy of the III-VII convocations Oleg Bayev.
Deputy Chairman of the PMR CEC Viktor Taranov announced the results of the elections held on November 29, 2020. Then the Supreme Council, on the recommendation of the temporary commission on regulations and mandates, made a decision to recognize the powers of the elected deputies of the VII convocation.
Oleg Bayev proposed the candidacy of Alexander Korshunov for the post of Chairman of the Supreme Council. He has been working in parliament for the third convocation - since 2010. He was the Head of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance, and since February 2019 - the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR. Deputies unanimously supported the candidacy of Alexander Korshunov. The newly elected Speaker of the VII convocation thanked his colleagues for their confidence.
The Head of parliament proposed the candidacy of Galina Antyufeyeva for the post of the vice speaker. Deputy of the Supreme Council of the III-VII convocations, heads the Committee on Legislation and Citizens' Rights and the Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations. Parliamentarians also unanimously supported the candidacy of Galina Antyufeyeva and elected her to the post of Deputy Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council of the VII convocation.
