The wind of the Afghan war

There are celebrations dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan throughout the country. Veterans of the Afghan war, mothers, widows of the heroically deceased soldiers-internationalists marched along the main square of Tiraspol.

During the war in Afghanistan 54 Pridnestrovians were killed. In the first row of the "Immortal Regiment" there are portraits of those who never returned from Afghanistan to their homes. Soldiers-internationalists shoulder to shoulder in a column with combat companions - a participant in military operations in the PRA, chairman of the Pridnestrovians Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, deputy of the Supreme Council Igor Buga.

The meeting in memory of that war, courage and honor of the soldiers-internationalists was held at the City Memorial of Glory. There are President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba, deputies of the Supreme Council, representatives of the government and local authorities, relatives of the victims together with veterans. Addressing the audience, the President remembered the father who was leaving for the Afghan war.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the Russian soldiers-internationalists continue to bravely fulfill their military duty in our time. Russian peacekeepers are opposed to terrorism and radical Islamism in Syria. The President emphasized that the memory of the exploit of Afghan soldiers should continue today, the state will do everything possible for this.

The feat of the internationalist soldiers, who first rose to protect the Pridnestrovian people in 1992, was remembered by the first president of Pridnestrovie, Igor Smirnov. The first president of the republic believes that understanding of honor, duty, service to the Motherland, which undoubtedly has veterans of the Afghan war, must be passed on to the younger generation.

Addressing the rally participants, the chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, the parliamentarian Igor Buga urged not to forget about how it was.

According to Igor Buga, since last year, Afghan soldiers, their families feel the support of the state, which is embodied in real solutions, social protection and guarantees. The parliamentarian wished the veterans good health, longevity, and all the Pridnestrovians of the world and good neighbors.

The participants of the meeting honored the memory of the dead soldiers-internationalists with a minute of silence and laid flowers to the monument of an Afghan soldier.
