The Court Weighty Word

October 19, the Tiraspol City Court granted the petition of the Supreme Council for the Protection of business reputation. The defendants were the press secretary - the head of press service and information of the President of PMR Ludmila Sarbu, the press service Office of Information of the President PMR, "PGTRK" and "The Pridnestrovskaya newspaper". Claims amounted to contents made public on the newswires "News of Pridnestrovie" (20 July 2016), the official website of the President of the Republic (20 July 2016), in the air "The First Pridnestrovian" (24 July 2016), and in the pages of the website of the republican newspaper "Pridnestrovie" (22 July 2016) comments the press secretary of the president of the Parliament on the decision to grant the right of the Supreme Council of the Chairman to sign the law in case of their refusal to sign by the head of state.

Since the disseminated information is untrue and discredits the business reputation of the legislature, there was a claim in the Tiraspol City Court, which deliver verdict on the basis of the case. It ordered the Administration of the President to instruct his press secretary in terms set by the court to refute the untrue and discredits the business reputation of the Supreme Council of the information in the same media in which they were made public. At the same time the court decision contained literally refutation.

However, the Administration of the President did not agree with Tiraspol City Court decision and November 10 prepared an appeal to the Judicial Board on Civil Cases of the Supreme Court.
