State of emergency is introduced on the territory of Pridnestrovie for a period of 11 days. The corresponding decree of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic today at the 1st emergency meeting of the IV session of the VII convocation was unanimously approved by the deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the plenary session.
Decree No.434 was signed by the PMR President the day before, on October 20, following the meeting of the PMR Security Council. As a result of the reduction in natural gas supplies from Russia to the republic by almost 37 million cubic meters, negative trends are emerging in the field of gas supply, which require response measures to the emerging negative situation.
Vadim Krasnoselsky noted at the extraordinary plenary session that three main aspects were identified at the meeting of the Security Council: providing the population of Pridnestrovie with energy resources, bringing natural gas to the industrial sector of the republic and supplying it to the State District Power Plant to generate electricity. The priority is the needs of the inhabitants of the republic. This is the position of the country's leadership. A decision was made in this regard earlier on the priority and full provision of energy resources to socially significant facilities and the population of the country. As for the industry, restrictions have been introduced in terms of the volume of natural gas use by budget-forming enterprises and smaller business entities in the current realities. These measures make it possible to reduce gas consumption by 22 million cubic meters in October. A reduction in the volume of natural gas supplies from MGRES will also reduce consumption.
The deputies of the Supreme Council of the PMR were interested in various aspects and nuances in the current situation. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky gave answers to all questions of interest.
Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Viktor Guzun emphasized that the basis for introducing a state of emergency is the occurrence of a severe general economic crisis, expressed in a critical drop in production, stagnant underload of production capacities or uncontrolled development of the processes according to Article 24 of the Constitutional Law “On Special Legal Regimes”.
Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic unanimously voted "for" the approval of the decree of the President on the introduction of a state of emergency in the economy throughout the territory of Pridnestrovie for a period of 11 days, until November 1.
The head of the relevant parliamentary committee, Viktor Guzun emphasized that all social obligations of the state would be fulfilled.
