The "Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" State Target Program for 2022-2026" was adopted by the Supreme Council in 2021 and has been in force since last year. The main goal of the State Target Program is effective prevention, reduction of morbidity, disability, mortality of the population from cardiovascular diseases, improvement of the quality and availability of medical care for such patients. The developed set of measures should create conditions that will reduce the incidence and mortality from cardiovascular diseases among the working population.

For 2022, 2307669 rubles were planned for the implementation of activities under the state program, 1775393 rubles (77%) were financed. The money was spent on the purchase of modern specialized drugs for intensive care wards in cardiology and neurology departments, laboratory tests, rehabilitation of citizens who had an acute myocardial infarction, a medical preparation for thrombolytic therapy and medicines were purchased. According to the Ministry of Healthcare, the mortality rates of the population from cardiovascular diseases have decreased: 4038 people in 2021, 3416 people in 2022.

More than 35 thousand people were registered with a disease of the circulatory system in 2022 in general, 5 thousand of which were new cases. 424 people were registered with a diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction last year. The state program provides for the provision of such citizens with medicines for one year. This direction was financed only by 40% due to problems with the import of medical and pharmaceutical products to Pridnestrovie.
