The Supreme Council agreed with the candidacy of the new Chairman of the Government

An extraordinary plenary session was held today in the Supreme Council. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in its work. The day before, the PMR President signed a decree on the dismissal of the Chairman of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Martynov, according to the submitted application, in connection with the transfer to another job. Alexander Martynov has served as Chairman of the Government since December 2016. Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked Alexander Martynov, who was present in the meeting room, and his team (the Government resigned in full force) for many years of work.

The PMR President awarded Alexander Martynov the Order of Honor. The ex-premier thanked all representatives of the authorities for their great joint work. He focused on key achievements in his speech: repairs in the housing and communal services and social infrastructure, lending programs for the real sector of the economy and young families to purchase housing. Alexander Martynov named the reform of the education and healthcare systems among the issues that have yet to be resolved, as well as the improvement of the law on wages for state employees. The ex-premier wished the new Chairman of the Government to preserve and increase what has been done.

Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov, on behalf of the Parliament and all deputies, thanked Alexander Martynov for many years of joint work and presented him with a bouquet of roses.

The Speaker of the Parliament announced the agenda of the extraordinary plenary session - the adoption of a resolution on giving consent to the appointment of Alexander Rosenberg, proposed by the President, for the post of prime minister. The decree and its biography were presented to the deputies by the Head of the PMR Presidential Administration Sergey Belous. Since January 2022, Alexander Rosenberg has served as Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the PMR. Prior to that, he worked for many years at a large enterprise – the Tiraspol Combine of Bakery Products, even earlier he held various positions in ministries and departments. Alexander Rosenberg, in his speech to the Parliament, outlined the main directions of the work of the Government under his leadership.

The deputies had no questions for the candidate, and the Head of the Committee on Legislation, Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeeva said that the candidate for the post of Chairman of the Government presented by the President meets all the requirements.

The deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic unanimously voted and adopted the Decree of the Supreme Council of the PMR on giving consent to the appointment of Alexander Rosenberg as the Chairman of the Government. The decree on appointment will be signed by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the near future. Then the new Chairman of the Government will introduce the new composition of the Government.
