Certified employees of the PMR Investigative Committee and employees of the PMR Prosecutor's Office with class ranks or military ranks will now be able to receive government subsidies for the purchase of their own housing. The deputies, in two readings at once, supported the legislative initiative of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic with amendments by the prosecutor of the republic. Amendments and additions were made to the law “On state support for young families for the purchase of housing” and to the law on the republican budget for 2024.
Five employees of the PMR Investigative Committee meet all the necessary criteria for providing a state subsidy as the official representative on the legislations explained today. One of them will be able to exercise the right to receive such a measure of state support this year.
The Prosecutor of the Republic proposed to include employees of the PMR Prosecutor's Office in the list of recipients of state subsidies, making appropriate amendments to the second reading. Subject to the availability of funding for measures to subsidize young families for the purchase of housing, this category of public sector workers will be able to exercise their right to receive state support starting from January 1, 2025.
Let us recall that the law “On state support for the purchase of housing” was adopted by the Supreme Council in February 2020. Pridnestrovian public sector employees began receiving the first subsidies for the purchase of their own housing in 2021.
Young families can take advantage of this measure of state support in the first five years of marriage, in cases where one of the spouses has not reached the age of 36. If there are children in the family, then there is no limit on the duration of the marriage. A single-parent family with a minor child can also receive a state subsidy if the parent has not reached the age of 36. The amount of the subsidy depends on the number of children and is equivalent to 10, 12 or 14 thousand dollars.
The list of potential recipients of state subsidies for the purchase of housing in addition to employees of the PMR Investigative Committee and the PMR Prosecutor's Office includes the following categories of public sector employees:
