Deputies unanimously supported the extension of the emergency regime in Pridnestrovie today in the course of the II extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council of the PMR. On March 30, the President Vadim Krasnoselsky amended Decree No. 98 of March 16. The state of emergency was extended until May 1. Initially, the state of emergency was introduced until April 5. In the course of the emergency meeting, the Head of the Operational Headquarters to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection Ruslan Mova presented the deputies with a report on the situation in the republic. He noted: 2 weeks ago in the world there were 200 thousand patients with COVID-19, now there are more than a million. The number of cases in Pridnestrovie is already measured in dozens. The whole world economy was under attack, its recession is forecasted, Ruslan Mova emphasized.
A number of measures have been taken in the republic. The operational headquarters has developed a clear algorithm of actions. The state of emergency limits a number of constitutional rights, including the free movement of people.
The President Vadim Krasnoselsky voiced his arguments in favor of extending the state of emergency. In his opinion, one must rely on the experience of China, where the spread of the new coronavirus was stopped in three months. In Pridnestrovie protective measures were taken in advance, but this is only the beginning of the fight against the epidemic, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted. The degree of danger and level of responsibility should be understood by every resident of the republic. The President emphasized that it is important for the republic to independently provide itself with essential goods and food. He called on the Government and the deputy corps to support Pridnestrovian manufacturers.
