The PMR Supreme Council completed the work of the spring session

On the 12th of July, the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic held the 20th meeting of the 5th session of the 7th convocation, which ended the spring session. There were about 70 questions included to the agenda. Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Supreme Council, at the end of the plenary session summed up the work of the deputies for six months.

The PMR Supreme Council held 20 plenary meetings, 3 emergency meetings and 35 meetings of the Presidium of the PMR Supreme Council for the period from January to July 2023. 329 legislative initiatives were submitted from the subjects of the right of legislative initiative for consideration by the Parliament during this period. The PMR President presented 48 legislations (14 of them are in the regime of legislative necessity), 141 legislations were received from the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, 14 were initiated by the Prosecutor of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, 5 - by the Bendery City Council, 3 - by the Supreme Court of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic became the developers of 118 legislations.

The Supreme Council considered 617 issues during the 5th session of the 7th convocation. 199 laws were signed by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and published (as of 12.07.2023). The Parliament adopted 62 non-legislative resolutions. Deputies of the Committees (Commissions) prepared and sent 15 official clarifications.

Alexander Korshunov thanked the deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, employees of the Administration and assistants to the deputies for their work in the spring session. The Chairman of the Supreme Council expressed special gratitude for the constructive cooperation to the members of the Government, official representatives of the President, the Government, all representatives of the authorities and administration who take part in the work on legislative initiatives. The Speaker emphasized that there are different opinions and disputes, but the golden mean or the optimal solution is found precisely when discussing issues at the platform of the Supreme Council.

The Speaker of the Parliament expressed confidence that in the autumn session the Supreme Council would continue constructive work with the Government and the Administration of the PMR President on amendments to the legislation of our republic for the benefit of the citizens of Pridnestrovie.
