The PMR Supreme Council adopted a statement in connection with the destructive position of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

10.07.2024

Deputies adopted in the course of the plenary meeting on July 10 a statement from the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in connection with the destructive position of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The Supreme Council of the PMR notes that the resolution was adopted without the participation of delegations from a number of states that were not physically allowed to attend the meeting of the assembly in Bucharest. It appears that the OSCE Parliament Assembly did not strive for either objectivity or balanced decision-making.

The Supreme Council of the PMR calls on the OSCE Parliament Assembly to rethink and reconsider its approaches and role in the Pridnestrovian settlement as soon as possible and to continue to refrain from circulating unmotivated accusations, since such approaches exclude opportunities for constructive interaction and prevent the achievement of a lasting and fair settlement of the conflict.

The statement will be sent to the OSCE, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the head of the OSCE mission to Moldova, international participants in the negotiation process in the “5+2” format, the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
