The 1st meeting of the VI session of the PMR Supreme Council of the VII convocation took place today in the plenary meeting hall. There were about 10 issues on the agenda, some of which were discussed. The next plenary meeting of parliament will take place on September 20.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov told reporters about plans for legislative work for the autumn session. The speaker emphasized that it will be necessary to make serious decisions on issues related to filling the state budget, taking into account the situation in both foreign policy and the economy.
The Supreme Council Chairman explained that expenditures on target programs and development funds, including the Capital Investment Fund, will most likely be reduced during the second and third reading of the draft law on the republican budget for 2024.
Other areas of parliamentary legislative activity in the coming months include a modern law on urban planning, issues related to the registration of land plots, the land cadastre, issues related to housing and communal services, including the removal and disposal of household waste.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council emphasized that, as part of the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, the relevant parliamentary Committee (headed by Vice-Speaker Galina Antyufeeva) is working to amend the Civil Code of the PMR.
The Speaker emphasized that a state target program for supplying apartments and houses with water meters at the expense of the state is in the process of development.
Alexander Korshunov noted that the implementation of such a state program will require large financial investments, about 12 million rubles per year. The state program will last 5 years, but when it starts to operate depends on the capabilities of the state budget. Parliamentarians will make a decision when considering the law-in-draft on the republican budget for 2024 or subsequent years.
