The Supreme Council: Access to Information on the Activities of Courts is required

Deputies in the course of the plenary online meeting today heard a report from the Chairman of the Supreme Court on the work done last year. The parliamentarians focused on the fact that the law "On ensuring access to information on the activities of the courts of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic", aimed at developing the principle of openness of the judiciary and the right of citizens and organizations to receive information about the activities of the courts, is not fully implemented. The law defines a list of information that must be posted on the official website. This list contains information on the progress of cases in court, on the issuance of judicial acts based on the results of the consideration of cases, the texts of judicial acts, information on their appeal and the results of such an appeal.

Deputies have been raising the issue of access to information about the activities of the courts for several years. The Supreme Court argues the impossibility of fulfilling the requirements of the law by the lack of the necessary technical base. The parliamentarians consider it important to resolve the technical issue in the near future.
