08.05.2025

A memorial rally was held today at the monument to the Unknown Soldier in the village of Novotiraspolsky. Students of the agrarian and technological faculty of Pridnestrovian State University, public figures, veterans, residents of the village and the "Zapadny" microdistrict came with portraits of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers who defended the Motherland from the fascists. Together with the deputy of the Supreme Council for the district "Zapadny" Galina Antyufeeva, they honored the memory of Soviet soldiers and officers who liberated the Motherland from the brown plague. There are slabs at the monument with the names of soldiers who died on the fields of the Great Patriotic War. There is a star for the eternal flame in the center. The eternal flame did not burn until today. It was lit for the first time in Novotiraspolsky today – as a symbol of the unforgettable feat of the Soviet people. Students of the agricultural faculty implemented their own idea of creating an eternal flame. They made all the equipment themselves, carried out excavation work and connected the gas supply.

Residents of the "Zapadny" district, students, public figures, military personnel of the Black Sea Cossack Army brought portraits of their relatives – participants in the battles and fights of the Great Patriotic War – to the memorial and the eternal flame of Novotiraspolsky. So that the name of each Soviet soldier remains in the memory of descendants for many years. They shared memories of their ancestors, heroes, thanked for peace and freedom today.

The Parliament vice-speaker Galina Antyufeeva came to the memorial with a portrait of her grandfather. Semyon Moiseevich Shklyarov died in battles near Tula. His name is carved on a monument above the mass grave, where his children and grandchildren now go. Galina Antyufeeva, like thousands of Pridnestrovians, will walk with a portrait of her grandfather along the central street of the capital in the column of the "Immortal Regiment" so that the memory of the feat of Soviet soldiers and officers will live for decades to come on May 9.

Residents of the "Zapadny" district, students, and deputies laid flowers at the monument to the fallen Soviet soldiers. The younger generation of Pridnestrovians delighted everyone present with concert performances after laying flowers. Children danced, sang, and recited poems. Then everyone was treated to traditional soldier's porridge with stewed meat and hot tea.
