The foreign exchange market: the intentional omission or lack of professionalism

08.06.2016

Members of parliament continue to discuss the situation on the currency market. The reason for the dialogue in the framework of the plenary meeting was the decision of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank charge a fee of 10% of the amount of foreign exchange purchased by banks and non-bank credit organizations in the foreign exchange auction. The parliamentarians noted that such a mechanism is a step in the devaluation and jeopardize the financial situation of citizens.

Deputies invited the President of PRB Eduard Kosovsky to discuss the topical issue, however, there was not the head of the central bank in the meeting hall.

Following discussion of the situation on the currency market, deputies adopted the relevant resolution. Parliament instructed the Prosecutor PMR to verify for compliance with the decisions of officials PRB to Constitution and laws of PMR when violations take appropriate response measures. The Supreme Council asked the Investigative Committee to provide within 30 days information about the decision regarding the fact that the central bank had violated the law by setting a fee of 10% of the amount of foreign exchange purchased by banks and non-bank credit organizations in the currency auction of PRB.
