Representatives of "The Women Twenty" (W20) from the G20 member countries gathered for the first time in Russia to discuss issues of gender equality. The work of "The Women Twenty" by the end of 2018 is organized by Argentina - this country is now presiding in the G20. It was decided to hold a special meeting in St. Petersburg within the framework of the Eurasian Women's Forum. Representatives of politics, business and public organizations, whose opinion is weighty in the G20, will develop recommendations for the leaders of these countries. They can be included in the resolution of the final W20 summit, which will be held in October. The agenda includes problems of accessibility of jobs for women, as well as financial and digital services, and literacy in these areas.
At the same time, she noted, there are still many problems in this sphere. Among them: discrimination against women in employment, in obtaining education and profession, pay, promotion, political career. These are the problems that women of all countries face. Their solution is impossible without the unification of the efforts of women of the whole planet. That is why the Federation Council took the initiative: to come together to discuss the most difficult problems, the most important issues related to the construction of a just world order, the improvement of the international situation, and the preservation of the environment. Such a women's dialogue was proposed to be organized as a form.
The Forum adopted the Final Document, which was sent to 166 states of the world and to 24 international organizations. The participants of the first forum spoke in favor of continuing the dialogue in this format. The second Eurasian Women's Forum will be held September 20-21 in St. Petersburg. The organizers of the Forum are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. The forum will discuss issues that concern women just today. 27 international organizations will take part in the Forum, which is unprecedented. In particular, they are the UN, WHO, ILO, UNIDO, UNICEF, the World Bank.
