The Supreme Council held this year's first meeting of the Presidium. The participants identified the issues to be included in the agenda of the forthcoming plenary sessions. The nearest of them will be held on January 20. The agenda of the last meeting of the Presidium of the parliament included more than forty issues. Most of the legislations submitted for discussion were of social and economic nature. Among them, there was a package of anti-crisis measures. Let’s remember that deputies developed a number of documents aimed at improving the situation in the economy and the social sphere, finding a way out of the crisis last year. They are at different stages of readiness, but some of them had not been adopted because of differences in points of view of the government and deputies, as well as blocking the activities of the legislature by a number of parliamentarians of the 5th convocation.
The issue of socio-economic plan and the intention to create a parliamentary commission of parliamentarians to monitor the implementation of legislative and other acts of the republic in the sphere of wages and pensions in 2015 was of no less importance. The head of parliamentary committee considers determining the causes of non-payment of public sector salaries and pensions in full last year the main purpose of its creation. According to Alexander Martynov, "parliamentary inquiry" was proposed for this purpose. Especially that the control functions of the parliament were enshrined in Regulations of the Constitution and the Rules of the Supreme Council.
The speaker emphasized the possibility of involvement of the parliamentary commission of experts, including experts of the Accounting Chamber as the supervisory authority of Parliament.
The proposal to establish a parliamentary commission was unanimously supported by members of the presidium of the legislature.
In accordance with the legislation in force until the expiration of the spring session the Supreme Council Deputies hear reports of the Government on the work of the previous year. Before that, parliamentarians form the list of questions. Members of the Presidium of the Supreme Council decided to grant places at the commission on mandates, regulations and deputy ethics in the period until February 1.
