Crossroads of Michurin and Sovchoznaya became a place of tragedy for residents of Bendery in 1992. Moldavian armored personnel carriers shot on duty vehicle "RAF" Bendery traffic militia, patrol car Pridnestrovian Guard on April dawn. A bus returning from a change of working cotton mill was under fire hit. Total 7 people were killed. Sergeants Igor Grek and Anatoly Petrov, a lieutenant colonel of the Republican Guard, Viktor Taranov, Bendery militiamen of experimental pilot plant repair and Sergeant Alexander Barbakar, Sergeant Sergei Bobuek and worker of cotton mill Elena Sprynchanu. Militia captain Gregory Echin was seriously injured. Within two months, there was a struggle of doctors for his life, but, unfortunately, she was unsuccessful. After the events of April 1992 the Street Sovkhoznaya was named after the killed captain.

Memory rally is annually held in Bendery at the memorial sign dedicated to the victims of the Moldavian aggressors attack 1 April 1992. The republic's leadership, relatives of the dead defenders of the city council and the head of the State Administration of Bendery, deputies of the Supreme Council, and residents of the city are constant participants of the commemorative events. There was a minute of silence dedicated to warrior heroes. Fresh flowers were laid in gratitude for the courage and bravery of compatriots at the memorial, who defended native city from March to August 1992. There was lithium for the dead and the ceremony of laying flowers to the graves of the Bendery defenders.

Mourning mothers and fathers, comrades, do not accept the loss and pain. Time cannot overshadow the memory of those tragic days unannounced attack on the city.

Diversion of April 1, 1992 was one of the bloodiest in a series of similar actions undertaken by the Moldovan police in spring 1992. Similar attacks were also carried out in Dubossary, Grigoriopol and Slobodzeya district of Pridnestrovie. Defenders and civilians of the republic were killed. The memory of each of them will remain forever in the people.
