Citizens and guests of the capital gathered in the capital's Catherine Park at the large-scale festival “Family is a magical symbol of life!” as part of the celebration of the Year of Family Values ​​and on the eve of the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. The celebration was attended by President Vadim Krasnoselsky and his wife Svetlana, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva, representatives of the government, state administration and public organizations.

Couples who have lived together for many years were congratulated today on the stage of Catherine Park. The President Vadim Krasnoselsky with his wife Svetlana personally presented memorable gifts and certificates to married couples who have maintained devotion and love in their families for decades. Among the couples who were honored on stage today is the Ivanov family. The couple is celebrating an emerald wedding this year – 55 years of marriage. They met in 1966, when Sergei Ivanovich came to visit his sister, and her friend was visiting at that time. They got married with Nadezhda, now Nadezhda Fedorovna, 3 years after the first meeting. The Ivanovs share simple secrets of family happiness today.

“Family is a magical symbol of life!” festival program was full of various events, from family sports competitions “Chamomile Starts – 2024” to master classes and exhibitions. Children drew and cut out daisies, wrote wishes to families, creating a symbolic amulet on a special tree at the “Daisy for Happiness” flash mob event on Fountain Alley. Meanwhile, adults took part in “Family Farewell” painting master classes.

A comic wedding ceremony was organized on the pier by the lake, which caused a sea of ​​smiles and joy. Everyone could feel like newlyweds and receive a symbolic marriage certificate. There was a photo zone where you could take beautiful photographs as a souvenir not far from the weeping rotunda. The soap bubble show and many other surprises added even more magic to the holiday.
