There will be a building of the central state archive of the PMR in Tiraspol

The premises of the left wing of the Regional department of internal affairs building, where the central state archive of Pridnestrovie will be located in the future are being repaired in the Oktyabrsky microdistrict of Tiraspol. Part of the building on Tekstilshchikov Street was transferred to the State Archives Service in 2018. Construction work has been underway since 2020 at the expense of the Capital Investment Fund. The progress of the repair, at the invitation of the leadership of the relevant department, was inspected by the deputy of the Supreme Council for the constituency number 31 "Krasnodonsky" Vadim Levitsky and the deputy chairman of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and the Media Andrey Safonov.

The first step was to replace the roof of a two-story building. over 300 thousand rubles were allocated for these purposes in 2020. The Capital Investment Fund allocated 3 million rubles last year, which went to work on the installation of external networks, heating, electricity, water supply and sanitation. Partially internal work – redevelopment, reinforcement of floors between floors, antifungal treatment – was done. In addition, they deepened the basement, which will also be used for storing documents.

1 million 100 thousand rubles were allocated for further repairs in 2023. These funds have already almost been used: for interior wall decoration, electrics, plumbing and sewerage. Another 4.5 million rubles are needed to complete the finishing work in the premises, to install ventilation and fire alarms. This is not counting the purchase of equipment and furniture, facade work, landscaping of the adjacent territory, and parking arrangements, which will require even more than 2 million rubles.

It was noted during the inspection that the renovated building will contain documents of the permanent storage period of state authorities and administration related to the history of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. These documents are stored at the moment in the ministries and departments. Partially, archival information relating to the history of Pridnestrovie, which is now located in the state archive building in the Borodinka microdistrict, will move into the new premises. Documents of Tiraspol, Slobodzeya, Grigoriopol, Dubossary regions and three Moldovan regions have been stored in this building since the times of the Soviet Union. The earliest document dates from 1944.

The area of the new state archive building is over 1000 square meters, 700 of which will be archive storage: for documents on paper and digital media. The conditions of their storage and temperature regime will be observed. The allocated area will be enough to store documentation for the next 20 years, the State Archives Service noted.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the law "On the archives of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic".
