The drama theater has been operating in Tiraspol for more than half a century

Theater-studio, city drama, republican theater of drama and comedy and Pridnestrovian theater of drama and comedy. The history of theatrical art in Tiraspol is almost a century old. The building specially built for the theater will celebrate its 85th anniversary this year, and only 51 the theater as an organization. 17 graduates of the Chisinau Institute of Arts, headed by Nadezhda Aronetskaya in 1969, opened a new theatrical era in Tiraspol. Nadezhda Aronetskaya became the first chief director of the theater. The first performance "City at Dawn" was timed to coincide with the official opening of the drama theater in Tiraspol - it happened on March 26, 1970. This day is considered the birthday of the Pridnestrovian State Drama and Comedy Theater.

A new generation of directors and artists, their stage experiments excite the consciousness and attract Pridnestrovian youth to the theater, the Speaker of the Parliament emphasized, addressing the collective on the occasion of the birthday of the Pridnestrovian State Drama and Comedy Theater named after N. S. Aronetskaya. Almost 250 performances have been staged in 51 years on the stage of our drama theater. Each season starts with a premiere - even during the pandemic. Theatrical art is eternal, it is not subject to either years, or political or economic shocks, or an epidemiological situation, says Alexander Korshunov.
