The parameters of the law "On the republican budget for 2025" will be revised in connection with the consequences of the energy crisis

The special legal regime – state of emergency economic situation – has been extended until March 10 in Pridnestrovie. The humanitarian gas received from the European Commission since February 1 is directed only to the needs of citizens, heating of residential buildings, social and educational institutions. Industrial enterprises continue to be idle, do not produce or import products. According to the State Customs Committee, in January, the trade turnover of Pridnestrovie excluding energy resources decreased by 43% compared to January 2024, while import indicators fell by 32%, and exports – by 60%. Export statistics for January of the new year showed negative dynamics for such budget-forming enterprises as OJSC "Moldavian Metallurgical Plant" (a decrease of 93%), CJSC "Tirotex" (by 80%), etc. The export of cereals from the PMR decreased by 69%, and footwear by 15%. Moreover, 135 economic agents have completely put their foreign economic activity on "pause", which is 30% of all organizations and enterprises of Pridnestrovie since the beginning of the year, according to the website of the State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Domestic individual entrepreneurs have also reduced the volume of foreign economic activity. 

The head of the relevant parliamentary committee emphasized that the law "On the republican budget for 2025" was adopted at the end of 2024, and was planned according to forecast indicators back in the fall of 2024, when industrial enterprises were operating and the state of emergency in the economy was not in effect. Namely, the flow of funds into the revenue side of the republican budget, which go to development programs and social payments to the population, depends on the work of enterprises in the real sector of the economy. Therefore, the main task will remain the payment of salaries, benefits and pensions to citizens when adjusting the parameters of the republican budget for 2025. 

The Government and the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic are working together to assess the consequences of the gas crisis and calculate the losses from the shutdown of Pridnestrovian economic agents. Legislative initiative will be formed to change the parameters of the republican budget for 2025 based on all the data.
