Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in Moldova has been Ulrike Maria Knots for three years. In connection with termination of the diplomatic mission, the German Ambassador visited the Supreme Council. She met the parliamentary site with the Vice Speaker, Chairman of the Commission of the Supreme Council on Foreign Policy and International Relations Galina Antyufeeva.
Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council on behalf of the speaker read a letter of gratitude to the German diplomat in connection with the termination as German Ambassador to Moldova, signed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba. In this regard, she recalled the meeting of the Chairman of the Supreme Council held exactly one year ago with the former German Foreign Minister, who then held the post of OSCE Chairman-in-Office Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
In the framework of the dialogue with the current German Ambassador Ulrike Maria Knotz, the Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva expressed her hope that her successor will be able to maintain a "close, sincere, kind cooperation" with the Pridnestrovian side in order to be peaceful and safe on the banks of the Dniester.
