Soldiers-Afghans were honored in the capital

The capital's club "Veteran" on the eve of the 29th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan held a grand meeting. The guests of the meeting, organized by the initiative of the City Council of War, Labor and Armed Forces veterans, were City Council deputies Elena Soboleva and Tatiana Rybachchenko.

Participants of the event recalled the difficult service of Soviet soldiers in a distant country, spoke about the international significance of the presence of Soviet troops in the East. Participants in the meeting honored the memory of 15,000 soldiers and officers who fell on Afghan soil.

Elena Soboleva handed the chairman of the veteran organization Ivan Nikolaev a greeting address from the vice-speaker Galina Antyfeeva and flowers. The deputy of the City Council passed a set of photographs to the Council of Veterans, which will supplement the chronicle of the organization.
