Federation Council hosts plenary meeting of VIII Christmas Parliamentary Meetings

The Plenary Session of the VIII Christmas Parliamentary Meetings is held at the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. It is carried out by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. The event was organized by the Federation Council as part of the XXVIII International Christmas Educational Readings on the theme "Great Victory: Heritage and Heirs".

The event is attended by members of the Federation Council, Deputies of the State Duma, representatives of ministries and departments, journalists, scientists and experts. The plenary session was attended by the Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, and Pridnestrovian legislators.

Round tables were held before the plenary session in the upper house of the Parliament to discuss topical issues of patriotic education, the humanitarian dimension of World War II, the role of public-state partnerships, the media in preserving and popularizing the heritage of the Great Victory.
