There has long been a problem of thriftless real estate properties, abandoned buildings in the republic. A special commission (working group) was created in the Supreme Council to solve this problem. The goal is to develop a solution on how to force the owners, if they are known, or find them, so that such an object is brought into proper condition.

The step was taken to resolve this complex issue, which will require extensive changes in the legislation of the republic at the plenary meeting of the Supreme Council. A group of parliamentarians presented a legislative initiative, according to which it would become mandatory to maintain a register of thriftless real estate properties. It is proposed to amend the law “On local authorities, local self-government and state administration in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” and give district and city administrations the authority to maintain such a register of thriftless real estate objects on their territories.

According to the authors of the initiative, the register should be public, which will help systematize information on thriftless objects, so that any interested citizen can familiarize themselves with it, for example, before purchasing.

The Supreme Council supported colleagues at the last plenary meeting, the law-in-draft was adopted in the first reading. By the second reading, all comments will be taken into account, and the procedure for maintaining such a register will also be enshrined.
