The events were held throughout the republic in memory of the soldiers who did not return from the Afghan war today, on the day of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Flowers were laid at the memorial sign to the soldiers-internationalists in Slobodzeya. The meeting was attended by the Deputy of the Supreme Council for the constituency №21 "Slobodzeya" Pavel Shinkaryuk, representatives of the local state administration and city district council, veterans of the war in Afghanistan.
More than 200 residents of Slobodzeya district went through the Afghan war, 16 of them were awarded the Order of the "Red Star", 8 were awarded it posthumously. Many residents of Slobodzeya were awarded medals: “For Courage”, “For Military Merit”, “For Distinction in Military Service”, “For Impeccable Service”, “From the Grateful Afghan People”.
Residents of Bendery gathered in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan at the Black Tulip monument. Representatives of the city council, State Administration, Peacekeeping contingent, public organizations, relatives of the victims came to pay tribute to the memory of the heroes. This was reported on the website of the Republican Party "Obnovlenie". 15 residents of Bendery did not return from the Afghan war. Fresh flowers were laid at the monument.
Flower-laying ceremony at the Memorial to Soldiers-Internationalists took place in Grigoriopol. Residents of the city recalled the fellow countrymen Aleksey Gushan, Alexander Pasha, Alexander Rusnak and Peter Tatar who died in Afghanistan. The memory of the departed soldiers-internationalists was honored with a minute of silence. More than 100 residents of Grigoriopol took part in the war in Afghanistan.
