Pridnestrovie will expand the list of preventive vaccinations

23.03.2022

The list of preventive vaccinations included in the immunization calendar of the population will be expanded. The Supreme Council in the first reading supported the proposal of the Ministry of Health of the PMR on the introduction of new vaccines - against hemophilic and pneumococcal infections. The goal is to prevent infectious diseases.

According to the Ministry of Health, hemophilic infection is the cause of numerous inflammatory processes in the laryngeal mucosa and affects the nasal mucosa. Pneumococcal infection is the causative agent of bacterial infections that manifest as pneumonia, meningitis and other dangerous diseases. It is possible to prevent the spread of these infectious diseases by immunizing the population, doctors say. Vaccination schemes against these infections coincide with the scheme of vaccinations against whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus DTP vaccine, therefore, they will not require additional organizational measures and medicine interventions.

The Parliament supported in the first reading the amendments to the law “On Immunization of Infectious Diseases” at the plenary online meeting. Deputies of the profile committee and representatives of the Ministry of Health will continue to work on the document for its consideration in the second reading.
