The law on the development of blockchain technologies has been revoked in Pridnestrovie

The law "On the development of information blockchain technologies", which has been in force in Pridnestrovie since 2018, has been repealed. The objects of activity in the field of blockchain technologies include cryptocurrency, smart contracts, mining and other products and processes built on the basis of this technology.

The law-in-draft on the repeal was submitted to the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the mode of legislative necessity by the PMR President. The development of the legislations is due to the need to respond to the ongoing crisis in the economy of Pridnestrovie in connection with the negative consequences of the reduction (termination) of natural gas supplies to the republic from January 2025.

The deputy corps supported in the course of the plenary session in the first reading the draft of a new law on the repeal of the law on the development of blockchain technologies in the PMR on the 5th of February.

The Supreme Council adopted in the second final reading the law "On the repeal of the Law of the PMR "On the development of information blockchain technologies in the PMR" in the course of the extraordinary online session on the 6th of February.

The adopted law will enter into force the day after it is signed by the President and officially published.
