Pridnestrovie will introduce fines for the use of invalid passports

The Supreme Council supported the legislative initiative to introduce punishment for the deliberate and illegal use of invalid or forged passports in the course of the plenary meeting today. Changes are being made to the law “On the PMR passport” and to the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The law-in-draft notes that in the current legislation there is no peremptory norm under which a passport is recognized as invalid, now such a norm will be introduced. A provision on the seizure of invalid passports will be determined and a mechanism for reporting information in case of revealing the facts of illegal use of invalid passports on various grounds will be described.

The law-in-draft was adopted in the first reading. The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that all the comments of the relevant committee will be taken into consideration by the second reading.
