On the eve of the day of the city

Tiraspol - is a visiting card of Pridnestrovie - will celebrate the anniversary on Saturday. A solemn meeting of the Council of People's Deputies was timed to the 225th anniversary of the founding of the city. Opening the event, which invited the leaders of the republic Vadim Krasnoselsky and Alexander Shcherba, the chairman of the Tiraspol City Council, Albina Ivanova, emphasized that the main wealth of Tiraspol is hard-working, talented people, all those who glorify the capital with their labor, contributing to its development.

The history of Tiraspol is inextricably linked with the Russian Empire. 225 years passed, but the Russian spirit is preserved in our city and country, said Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President called on the Tiraspol community to invest their souls in the development of the city, not to stop at what has been achieved and to move forward.

In the course of the solemn meeting, the chairman of the Women's strike committee Galina Andreeva was awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Tiraspol". The President presented the ribbon and the certificate to her. Galina Stepanovna stood at the origins of the republic's formation, took part in the fighting in 1992, in organizing the women's strike movement and the "rail war".

Congratulating the city and its residents on the anniversary, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba noted the special character of the capital.

Orders and medals for conscientious work for the benefit of their native city were awarded to the best of the best. Among the awardees are people of labor, representatives of public organizations, individual entrepreneurs. They work at city enterprises, bake bread, treat people, train athletes, take care that our common home, our capital will be better, built and looked with confidence in tomorrow.
