The Supreme Council will consider the Concept of National Security of the PMR in the second reading, at one of the next plenary sessions.
The Concept formulates the most important directions of the PMR state policy. The document is necessary when planning and implementing activities to ensure the security of the republic.
The National Security Concept notes that Pridnestrovie is a multinational and peace-loving state with a rich history and cultural traditions. Our republic is historically focused on the pro-Russian and Eurasian vectors of development. Pridnestrovie has always supported and continues to support good-neighborly and economically mutually beneficial relations with neighboring countries – Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, based on cooperation, pragmatism and mutual respect. However, blockade restrictions in relation to Pridnestrovie on the part of neighboring states have intensified and acquired a sharply expressed and radical character recently. If a negative scenario develops in these conditions, all spheres of life, including the national security of the republic, may be affected. Therefore, the main goal of the Concept is to achieve and maintain such a level of protection of the individual, society and the state from internal and external threats, which guarantees the sustainable development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the realization of its national interests.
The next plenary sessions of the Supreme Council are scheduled for the 16th and the 23rd of June. Tomorrow, the plenary session will be fully devoted to the discussion of the Government's report for 2020.
