The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord will be built in the village of Novotiraspolsky at the request of residents. Archbishop Sawa of Tiraspol and Dubossary consecrated the first stones and the cross on Sunday, June 15. Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva and parliamentarian Andrei Mezhinsky prayed together with the parishioners during the service.

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva, head of the Tiraspol State Administration Ilona Tyuryaeva, CEO of Tirotex CJSC, parliamentarian Andrei Mezhinsky, residents of the village of Novotiraspolsky and the capital's Zapadny microdistrict prayed at the service, the website of the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese notes.

The temple is named in honor of the biblical event – the Transfiguration of the Lord, when Jesus Christ was transfigured before three disciples. He revealed his divine glory to them during prayer on Mount Tabor. The Holiday has reminded believers of the mission of the Savior for two millennia – to heal and transform human souls. The future temple like other sacred places will help parishioners get closer to God.

Residents of Novotiraspolsky come to worship in a wooden temple, it is small in size and cannot accommodate a large number of parishioners. The new temple will be spacious, its construction will take 3 years. Believers called this event an important moment in their lives. It was especially awaited by elderly people and mothers with small children, since it is difficult for them to travel to services in other areas. The ceremonial laying of the foundation stone of the temple took place after the liturgy. The priests laid the consecrated stones in the foundation. Construction work will begin this week.
