The monument to the workers of the Moldavian vegetable and potato irrigation experimental station who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 will now be included in the Unified State Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Objects of Pridnestrovie, which means it will be under state protection. The Supreme Council supplemented the relevant law by adopting the corresponding government law-in-draft in two readings.

The monument to the soldiers-liberators is located in the capital's microdistrict of the Research Institute, where the experimental station operated in Soviet times. The monument was erected in 1967 in memory of 20 station workers who did not return from the Great Patriotic War. For more than half a century, residents of the microdistrict, kindergarteners and schoolchildren have been coming to it to pay tribute to the memory of all the defenders who fought against fascism in 1941-1945.

31 burial mounds were included in the Unified State Register. They are located in Slobodzeya, Grigoriopol, the villages of Parkany and Chobruchi of Slobodzeya district, Novo-Vladimirovka and Tokmazeya of Grigoriopol district and Vykhvatintsy of Rybnitsa district. The burial mounds as archaeological monuments are unique in that under the burial mound you can find important information about the life, culture and beliefs of the peoples who previously lived on the territory of the Pridnestrovian lands.

The adoption of the law-in-draft will serve as a legal basis for preservation, use and popularization of immovable cultural heritage sites, the Government considers. The new burial mounds were discovered last year by archaeologists from the Archaeology Research Laboratory of the Pridnestrovian State University. They conducted 51 historical and cultural examinations of land plots to do this. Such activities are carried out before land plots are transferred to land users for agricultural production. The relevant law corrected brief information about historical, archaeological, artistic, urban planning and architectural monuments, in particular, their addresses were corrected. In addition, some archaeological monuments that had already been studied during archaeological field work were excluded from the register.
