In memory of Pridnestrovian defenders

The commemorative events dedicated to the 27th anniversary of Bendery tragedy ended with the traditional Regatta of Memory. It is annually dedicated to pupils of the Bendery rowing school, masters of sports Andrei Bunin, Yuri Gladkov, Vyacheslav Malchukov and everyone who in 1992 defended Pridnestrovie.

The regatta started at the Bendery rowing base "Chaika". 59 people took part in it as a part of 11 crews. The candidate for master of sports of the USSR in rowing, Honorary President of the PMR Rowing Federation Vadim Krasnoselsky with his wife came out to water. Among the participants - Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and parliamentarian Sergey Pisarenko. At 16.45, the sounds of the siren and the beats of the metronome indicated a minute of silence. The participants of the regatta lowered wreaths and fresh flowers on the Dniester waters in memory of the fallen defenders. Then the rowers passed 12 km waterway and finished near the Yunost sports camp in Mereneshty

All participants were awarded diplomas at the end of the Regatta.
