The management of public education department in the capital summed up the results of competitive events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, according to the website of the administration of the capital. Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, deputy of the Supreme Council Igor Buga participated in the awarding of winners with special letters and prizes.
The parliamentarian thanked all the organizers and participants of a large cycle of events that took place in February under the banner of the memory of the Afghan war and respect for Soviet soldiers-internationalists. The schools of the city, including correctional, as well as the organizations of additional education were involved. According to the results of the competition for the best design of stands and compositions, in which 23 schools of Tiraspol participated, it was decided to award everyone.
The poster contest "Hymn to honor, courage and glory" was held in two age categories: grades 5-8 and 9-11. The winners included students of municipal educational institutions - the Tiraspol Humanitarian-Mathematical Gymnasium, theoretical lyceums number 1 and number 2, schools number 2, number 9, number 11, number 12, number 14, number 18, and the Palace of children's and youth creativity, environmental center students. Among the participants there are children with disorders of the musculoskeletal system: pupils of correctional school number 2.
Republican sports marathon “Adequately serve the Motherland” was also held. It was attended by 152 students and 19 public organizations. The first place was awarded to the team of the capital school №9.
Along with competitions in schools in Tiraspol, class hours were held on “Opening the pages of the Afghan war”. Schoolchildren were met by veterans of the war in Afghanistan and relatives of the deceased heroes.
