August 29 of this year, the day of the 219th anniversary of the 55th Podolsky Infantry Regiment, the first stones in the foundation of the chapel of the Holy Royal Martyrs were laid at the military-historic memorial complex "Bendery Fortress" located on the territory of the Alexander Nevsky Church. They are members of the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II, shot by the Bolsheviks. In general, several generations of regal lords of the Russian Empire visited Bendery. Restored already in our century, the Church of Alexander Nevsky was discovered by Nicholas I, in 1877, the Emperor Alexander II prayed here. In 1916, Nicholas II visited it with his family.
The illuminating ceremony took place today at the same place in the temple, and then the installation of the dome and the dome cross. The ceremony was conducted by Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary in the presence of the republic's leadership, representatives of the deputy corps, government, and parishioners.
Before the participants of the dome cross, the President of the Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky delivered a speech. He thanked the patrons, devotees, builders who built the chapel, and assured that in July next year - to the 100th anniversary of the execution of the royal family - it will be open.
A military march to the leaders of the republic was marched by servicemen of the guard of honor of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and students of the Suvorov school.
