The doctors who participated in the Great Patriotic War, local wars and emergency liquidators, were recalled on the eve of the Day of the Medical Worker in Tiraspol.
The solemn event took place near the building of the Medical Faculty of Pridnestrovian State University. Representatives of medical institutions of the republic and students, heads of departments gathered at the monument to doctors who participated in the Great Patriotic War, local wars and liquidators of emergency situations. The ceremony was attended by parliamentarians: the Deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency No. 29 "Odessky" Igor Buga and the deputy for constituency No. 28 "Central" Ilona Tyuryaeva. It was she who initiated the creation of this monument, which was opened in 2020, the Year of Health in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Warm words and congratulations on their professional holiday were addressed to veteran doctors. They were given flowers and valuable gifts. The participants expressed their deep respect and gratitude to the people who stood at the forefront in the struggle for the health of every person in difficult times.
Fresh flowers lay down to the memorial sign. Doctors and nurses recalled the feat of colleagues who participated in wars and rescued people in emergency situations. The memory of the medical workers who gave their lives was honored with a minute of silence.
