In memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War

The feat of Soviet heroes, remember the soldiers and officers who died during the Great Patriotic War, read poems and sing songs in gratitude for the reconquered world are remembered on the eve of Victory Day, in all cities and regions of Pridnestrovie. Among the 29 million who did not return from the war of 1941-1945, included 20 workers of the former Moldavian vegetable-potato irrigation experimental station. A monument was erected in the metropolitan microdistrict of the Research Institute more than half a century ago in memory of them. Residents of the microdistrict lay flowers here every year. A commemorative event was also held today, on the eve of the 9th of May. They invited a deputy of the Supreme Council for the constituency Number 29, representatives of ministries and youth.

20 young people from Tiraspol, Sukleya and Karagash were called up in 1944 immediately after the liberation of Tiraspol. They did not return home. The chairman of the public organization Veterans of War, Labor and the Armed Forces of the Pridnestrovian Research Institute Evdokia Emelyanova said: they turned to the Russian website Memory of the People in order to find out where their fellow countrymen died.

Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Igor Ilyin and home front worker Anna Shivyakova were invited to the commemorative rally. Igor Rostislavovich Ilyin at the age of 98 came to the event accompanied by his relatives. He served in the Red Army during the war years. He published during peacetime the materials and books about the war. Candidate of Agricultural Sciences was the editor of scientific publications of the Pridnestrovian Research Institute, was an Honorary Member of the Dokuchaev Society of Soil Scientists of Russia, was a member of the Union of Writers and the Union of Journalists of Pridnestrovie.

Schoolchildren and kindergarteners read poems and sang songs today in gratitude for the feat and the Great Victory.

The fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War were honored with a minute of silence.
