On November 2, the opening ceremony of the XVI Russian World Assembly began with a welcoming address by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was read by Elena Yampolskaya, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation.
The main theme of the Assembly this year is “Spiritual and Moral Values of the Russian World”. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Elena Yampolskaya recalled that the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation defines traditional values as "moral guidelines" that are shared not only by the people of Russia, but also by a huge number of people around the world. The promotion and strengthening of these values is impossible without work to promote the Russian language. Elena Yampolskaya emphasized that Russia will always support those who consider themselves to be native speakers of the Russian language and culture, regardless of their nationality and religious affiliation. Since January 1 of this year, by decision of the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has become the sole founder of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in his speech highly appreciated the contribution of the Russkiy Mir Foundation to the promotion of Russia's rich cultural and historical heritage and efforts to increase interest in the study of the Russian language in the world.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs recalled that next year will be marked by the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The heroism of the soldiers and officers of the Red Army, home front workers who brought victory closer, today serves as the most important support for national identity, a source of inspiration for educating younger generations in the spirit of patriotism, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.

The delegation from Pridnestrovie takes part in the work of the Russian World Assembly almost every year. The results of this year's trip were commented on by one of the members of the Pridnestrovian delegation, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Vadim Kravchuk.
The parliamentarian emphasized that Pridnestrovie has one of the largest communities of Russians abroad. It is important therefore to take part in such events, where you can communicate with compatriots, learn new things and share your own experience of preserving and promoting Russian culture and traditional values.
Pridnestrovians traditionally consider themselves part of the Russian world, Russian culture. We have a common history. We share common ideas about spiritual and moral values. Pridnestrovie is integrated into the educational space of Russia. Education in Pridnestrovian schools is conducted according to Russian programs and standards. Pridnestrovian legislation has been gradually harmonized since 2007 with Russian legislation (taking into account the specifics of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic).
