The Council of People's Deputies of Kamenka district and Kamenka held an extraordinary session today, July 11. Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov, Vice-Speaker of Parliament Galina Antyufeeva and Deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency No. 12 “Kamenka” Valery Babchinetsky took part in the session.

The main issue on the agenda is the election of the chairman of the district city council. Oleg Kisnichan, who headed Kamenka District City Council since December 2020 was relieved of his post as chairman at the session of the Supreme Council on July 3. The basis was an appeal from a group of Kamenka deputies who declared a loss of confidence in Oleg Kisnichan as chairman. Oleg Kisnichan remained to work as a deputy of the district city council for the district after the removal of powers.

According to the regulations, today’s session was chaired by the oldest deputy, Mikhail Penkovsky, who headed the Kamenka District City Council from 2000 to 2010. Mikhail Penkovsky proposed the candidacy of Oleg Burlaki for the post of new chairman of the district city council. He is a deputy from district No. 8 and represents the interests of residents of the village of Katerynovka, Kamenka district. Oleg Burlaka is an agrarian; he has been working on the land for many years, growing grain in Kamenka district. On behalf of the deputies of Kamenka, Oleg Burlaka spoke at the VII Congress of Deputies of all levels of Pridnestrovie, which was held in February in Tiraspol in connection with a new round of external political and economic pressure from Moldova.

A secret vote took place in the hall. 22 out of 23 deputies in Kamenka District City Council were present in the hall. All people's representatives were given ballot papers. The counting commission announced the results after the counting. 21 deputies voted for the candidacy of Oleg Burlaka, 1 was against.

Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov congratulated the head of Kamenka District Council on his election. Vice-speaker Galina Antyufeyeva gave parting words.

The head of the legislative and highest representative body of power of Pridnestrovie Alexander Korshunov spoke in his speech about the difficult but interesting work of deputies of local councils. After all, all of them, except for the head of the district city council, care about voters and solve the problems they set, working on a voluntary basis.

Deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR for electoral district No. 12 (there are 2 in total in the region) Valery Babchinetsky noted that the interaction of the heads of state administration and the local council of people's deputies always benefits both the city or region itself and all its residents. He wished the new chairman of the district city council to revive fruitful interaction.
